These two month’s themes were to knit Scarves and/or hats for those who are Homeless. Patterns for these months could range
widely, from extravagant to simple. However, Wool and other warm yarns were suggested for use.

The Sheriff's office was the focus of June-July. This time, Community Yarn Creations knit Animals for the Children found by
these just keepers of the peace.

This one is an Optional Project for the Military Bases. I spoke with Petty Officer Sanford today in the Public Affairs office
at Naval Station Everett. They would love caps for the troops and he will contact the commanding officers of ships to see if
they will accept the caps without a specific soldiers name on them. If not, he will help us to work this out. All Caps need
to be black!
As well, May will feature Cat Nip toys for Animal Shelters.

We are making mothers day gifts to be donated to Family Literacy Program with Edmonds Community College which helps young
mothers return to school for their GED's and parenting classes.

This month, we will be knitting Capes for Hospice. Do not add Fringe, as this can get caught in wheelchairs. Use only 2
skeins of Yarn for Bed patients vs. 3 for a smaller size. This pattern is very easy, so relax.
